This is the root problem with education today.\u00a0 We continuously throw money at educational programs and expect results.\u00a0 The results aren&#8217;t coming like they should.\u00a0 This is because most of the educational programs are flawed in the most fundamental way.\u00a0 We are trying to teach students in outdated ways. Public Education needs a makeover, or faces extinction as we know it.<\/p>\n<h2>Technology is an Answer<\/h2>\n<p>We are living in the most exciting time in human history. What if we gave iPads to high school students instead of textbooks?\u00a0 Would our systems save money? Let&#8217;s do some simple math&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Average cost of textbook- $100 x 8 classes a year= $800 for year of textbooks.<\/p>\n<p>For the sake of argument, let&#8217;s say that textbooks are purchased every 4 years, which means the cost of textbooks per student for an entire high school career is $800.\u00a0 The cost of an iPad is $399.<\/p>\n<p>Think how much the school systems could be saving while reaching students in an effective way.<\/p>\n<h2>The Arts are an Answer<\/h2>\n<p>The Arts are the future of the world economy.\u00a0 You can see it already.\u00a0 Our future will consist of interactivity and intelligent design.\u00a0 (It already does.)\u00a0 Economic freedom will belong to the creative.\u00a0 If we do not prepare students for this future economy, we are setting them up for failure.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Instead, we need to shift our focus from testing and concentrate on creativity.\u00a0 We should <strong>awaken<\/strong> students to their inherent creativity.\u00a0\u00a0 We need to assist students to <strong>develop<\/strong> their creativity. \u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>And lastly, we need to teach students to<strong> use <\/strong>their creativity.\u00a0 The Arts accomplish all of these things.\u00a0 Why then are so many school systems cutting Art Programs?\u00a0 Instead, the Arts should be the center of education.<\/p>\n<p>This video nails it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zDZFcDGpL4U\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Education is need of a reformation and is in danger of extinction.\u00a0 Public Education is under constant attack and without change, the attacks will continue.\u00a0 Drastic change needs to happen now.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding:0% 4% 0% 4%;clear:both;\">\n<div class=\"promoinsert\">\n<div class=\"promoimagenews\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"promotext\"><span>Like This Lesson?<\/span><br \/>If so, join over 36,000 others that receive our newsletter with new drawing and painting lessons.
