Hello Matt,
I love these module lessons you've created. Especially on how you put different mediums together.
I was wondering if gauche paints would work better than acrylics to replace the posca markers?
Thanks, Linda Foote (footsiefree)

Hi Carly,
Yes, they do come in multiple sizes. I prefer the fine tips, but I also have the broader tip pens as well. The color names are rather silly (ex. Sunshine Yellow). I really don't pay attention to the name of the color. My largest set of colors has 29 pens which will give you much of what you need.

Teri,
Yes, you can use acrylic ink as the underlayer. Acrylic ink is a thin acrylic paint similar to the acrylic paint in a Posca marker. You might want to mix a little clear sanded gesso (like Liquitex) with the ink as you paint. Its not absolutely necessary, but the sanded gesso will give some good tooth to the acrylic underpainting. The colored pencil grabs onto the sandy surface like a dream. You can get a lot of layers of colored pencil on top of acrylic paint that way. Hope this helps.

Dear Teri,

I don't have any markers yet. Would give it a try or you can use colored pencils only.

Still need to figure out the differences between all the brands out there.

Will you keep me in the loop?
