In reply to Devorah Herman. Hi Devorah, It is largely a preference, however I have found that tube watercolors go on with a bit more intensity, possibly due to a higher ratio of pigment to water.

Sometimes you use tube watercolor and some times pan.
What dictates your choice?

Is one more suitable for some work?

Or is it simplypersonal preference?

Matt, this beautiful series of video lessons just gets more and more impressive. I’m determinedly working away at your October Pen and Ink Series so that I can move onto adding colour. I have used pen and wash a lot for small plein air sketches but never for a considered piece – can’t wait!
