I was hoping for a slower video with more pauses to allow me to see what you were explaining while painting. It’s hard to follow when your hand covers the canvas.

After reading some of these comments I think it might help for some eager learners to step out of the box. The beautiful thing is that is exactly what ART is! These lessons have great content to show techniques to understand acrylic painting in general. This particular lesson covers many problematic situations with one tiny subject.
As a beginner it can be frustrating. Sometimes, we want to know exactly what to do. Matt is teaching many skills in this lesson that can actually be taken into many subjects an artist may want to paint. I think artists can be distracted by constantly wanting to execute. I believe that sometimes less doing and more absorbing ideas, is more important than actually doing a painting perfectly.
Im sure any artist agrees the end game here is to actually be able to create your own art one day without instruction. Listening to Matt’s ideas and watching some of the techniques will be far more beneficial than getting wrapped up in the obsession to copy perfectly.

OMG, I took this course because I am a beginner but this is NOT a beginner acrylic painting lesson or course. I’m very frustrated!!! (as you can probably tell).
Yes, Matt, how do you keep the paint wet?
How long did it take you?
What size brush should you use to get the letters fine?
How do you keep your brush from gooping up?
Why start with something much easier like techniques? UGH!!!
