They make connections to core content daily. Art is not an island but utilizes, manipulates, and incorporates math, science, history, literature, language, and more every day. It is why art students out-score their peers on the SAT by an average of 100 points. Schools that cut art, undercut their own student’s success with short minded, and wrongheaded assumptions.

Every year they cut moneys to the National Endowment for the Arts. How much money did our President allow for Arts in Education programs in our Schools?
The answer is ZERO! It had to take Congress to step in and ok funding for this very important program in our Schools. What would this Country look like if the Arts were scratched out? John F. Kennedy once said, “The life of the arts, far from being an interruption, a distraction, in the life of the nation, is close to the center of a nation’s purpose – and is a test to the quality of a nation’s civilization.”

The education sistem is pretty bad all around the world. It need some changes but the people should realize what is mising, what is going wrong. This is so tru, the school doesn´t teach us to think, to be creative. We need to be creative even we are not artist. Every body needs to be creative in this field, learn to think, learn to find solution and this required inspiration. Inspiration could be developed with art. It will be great if art will take a better place in the schools. So many people stressed, frustrated,concerned, feeling incarcerated. And for sure the art could help a lot to fix this problems. Thanks for this posting and the video, very interesting, I hope many people will see this.
