I am glad you enjoyed my piece. I love seeing evderyones art and I always learn something from Matt’s critiques. I am deffinetly going to take Matt’s suggestions and see if I can improve this panting.

Thank you Matt, I greatly appriciate your critique and suggestions. I have this one still pinned up trying to figure out why it wasn’t quite right. I will deffinatly take your suggestions and see if I can fix it. I have only been drawing for a short time, just picked up oil pastels after I joined The Virtual Instructor this year. Thank you for the suggestion on the clouds, they have been bothering me but I couldn’t figure out why, your right, I do have my light source backwards. I think because they were higher in the sky, the light wouldn’t hit as much. I found the road the hardest, to get the correct perspective and to make it look like a dirt road.
My reference picture is actually a picture of my driveway into my yard.

Hello Shantelle,

I think that your artwork is absolutely lovely! I would like to walk down this path without a care and imagine where it leads me. Like Matt said with his suggestions it would make it more dynamic than it already is.

I always find Matt’s suggestions so helpful. If you do make some changes I hope that you will repost it so we can see what you have done.
