I just started the course and I’m liking it very much so far!

There are just two topics I have questions about:

1. Do you rest your hand on the paper while drawing? If so, how (fingers, wrist or both)?
It looks like your hand is “floating” over the paper, but I find this utterly hard to do as I have nearly no control over the line as I am drawing. Should one train to “float” the hand or is resting fine?

2. How should I position my drawing paper? Flat on the table or slanted so it is easier to look perpendicular to the paper?

I Definitely need to practice continuous line drawing. Not good in either the continuous …blind or observing attempts.

Currently, I’m 59 years old, married for 37 years and have three boys are in their early 30s. I have recently retired, as a 3 time cancer survivor, and a progressive stage of Multiple Sclerosis., I needed a challenge, disciple, and purpose to bring my passion alive again and this is exactly what I needed. I’m digging the blind contour and other methods used in these courses as they present a challenge. I love being challenged and this has awoken my creative side. Looking forward to spending more time each day taking notes and make strides, and being part of a community. Thanks Matt!
