Would you recommend this course if I have used mostly graphite before? Or should I take the pen/ink and watercolor courses before I start with this one?

Windsor Newton now makes cadmium red yellow and orange in cadmium free forms. You have to pay a bit more for these because you have to get the WN professional version of the paint tubes. SInce my grandchildren are around a lot of the time, I prefer to avoid cadmium.

Hi Matt,
I started the seagull line and wash a few weeks ago. I got the line in but hadn’t started the wash. I’m not finding the lesson. Was it removed or am I just not seeing it? Thanks! Great information, btw.

Hi, Matt. I’m looking forward to the course. In a workshop, a teacher once discouraged me from line and wash: “There are no lines in nature.” I recognize the partial truth of that, but ever since I’ve struggled: pencil lines? pencil plus ink? pure watercolor? I’m eager to see how you manage all three.

Hi Charles,

I believe I used the following Grumbacher Goldenedge brushes for this course… 14 round, 4 round, and 00 round. These worked for me, but other sizes may work better for you. Other sized brushes could have been substituted without much of a difference in the end result.
