I never really liked line & wash but recently gave it a try and to my surprise enjoyed it very much. I am so glad you have this “Line & Wash” series so I can learn more about it and try out all I can learn from you. Thank you for that!

Hi Matt
You use Staedtler pens. I have a bunch of Pigma Macron pens. How is the line quality equal to the Macron pens? The Staedtler pens seem to be more "Juicier "than the Macrons.

Very helpful. I love these exercises. Compared to a full-blown project, they can be done in a reasonable amount of time while giving me the practice that I need to develop my skills. Thanks Matt! I have been playing around with creating my own "inks" using a variety of natural materials (pokeweed, red cabbage, and turmeric). It will be fun to use these natural inks as an alternative to watercolor to create a pen and ink drawing.

Am enjoying this course, thanks for your skill and hard work. I wonder if you will be mentioning, demonstrating, colored ink somewhere in this course? I don't have any but have a book which uses them with watercolor and have wondered how to get other than the primary colors or garish colors. Also, would you elaborate on your remark about the look of a painting done with line and wash in module 3? Tks.
