I tried the drawing. Wow, it is not easy. The folds themselves have highlights, and it is almost as if there are images within the tube as well, due to those highlights. Getting the perspective is on another level when you want to get the bending of the light right. Okay, I will store it in a safe place for now.

Hi Matt! I just started and happy to be here! I’m actually taking an online sketching class through the jr. college here (no cost, no credit) and the instructor recommended your website, so here I am! (So far, I’ve learned alot more from you!) I did your beginning sketch webinar with the Nike shoe and that turned out pretty good and I learned alot about values so thank you for that. I found the paint tube in this lesson 1 to be challenging especially the bends and the impressions. I’m silently hoping that others found it challenging too. It will be interesting to look at it after day 25.

I have taken one other online course for about 6 months. I have no other drawing experience. I am starting your courses with this one and finding it comfortably challenging. Can you suggest an order in taking the courses to optimize the learning experience without becoming overwhelmed or too repetitious. I am loving it so far. Love the short class length but boy do you pack a lot into that amount of time. Glad I found you. Your classes work perfectly with my “mindset.”

I signed up for the free 7 day trial and I am looking forward to learning. I am just wondering if purchasing the yearly membership would be a good option. I have two dogs that require attention and my wife can not walk very good. I must constantly get up and do things around the house which interrupts my concentration on the course. Being 77 is another consideration since I am at the last stage of life. I will make a decision before the 7 days are up but I want to thank you for your website of training. It is what I have been looking for. I’m not very good but enjoy the process and results that produced.

Absolute amateur beginner, so okay with my awful reference image attempt.
I expect to improve and learn tips how to accomplish; i.e. always use sharp point since blunt pencil fuzzy. Did attempt lettering and shapes on tube.
Did not try to erase or perfect since a work in progress.
